# Self-Host vs Hosted Omentir
> Same MIT codebase. Hosted omentir.com is Pro at $49 per month with Unipile, Firebase, and Gemini operated for you, plus a three-bookings-per-week guarantee. Self-host is RUN_LOCALLY=TRUE with your Firebase, Unipile, and Gemini or Vertex.

**Verdict:** Use hosted if you want the product without operating providers. Self-host if you will run Docker, Firebase, Unipile, and Gemini or Vertex yourself. The code is the same MIT repo. This is not a competitor page.

Same application. Different ops, providers, and commercial packaging.

## One repo, two ways to run it

Hosted Omentir and a self-hosted install are the same application. There is no secret second codebase. You pay hosted for operations, providers, support, and the commercial packaging. You pay self-host with your time and your vendor bills. If a page pretended these were two products, it would be lying.

The switch in the repo is RUN_LOCALLY=TRUE. That turns off hosted auth, billing, marketing, and hosted-only mail. You still need Firebase or Firestore, Unipile for LinkedIn, and Gemini or Vertex for the model. Docker is the supported path. It is not offline.

## When hosted Omentir fits

Start hosted if you have not proved the offer yet. Pro is $49 per month for one user and one LinkedIn account, with unlimited agents, leads, and campaigns, API access, and email support. Omentir operates Unipile, Firebase, and Gemini. The three-bookings-per-week or pay-nothing promise applies only on eligible hosted workspaces. Read the policy before you treat it as a slogan.

Enterprise is the path when you need unlimited users and LinkedIn accounts, SSO, dedicated onboarding, or priority support. That is still hosted. It is not a self-host SKU.

## When you should self-host

Self-host when a reviewer needs the app on your machines, when residency is a real constraint, or when you already run Docker and provider accounts and do not want another SaaS. Budget time for Unipile, Firebase, and Gemini or Vertex before you have learned anything about buyers. That is a week-two project if the motion is unproven, and a day-one project if the constraint is already known.

Forks may modify the MIT code. They may not present themselves as Omentir or omentir.com. The name and logo are not in the software license.

## When neither path is the buy

If you wanted a sequencer on a CSV you already have, this page is the wrong aisle. Expandi, Dripify, Waalaxy, and HeyReach are those purchases. Hosted versus self-host only matters after you want Omentir's LinkedIn workspace. Pick the ops model second.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is the hosted product closed source?**

No. Hosted Omentir runs the public MIT application. You pay for operations, providers, and support, not for a hidden fork.

**Does self-host include the three bookings per week guarantee?**

No. The Minimum Booking Guarantee is hosted-only. Self-host customers run their own providers and are not on that policy.

**Can I keep the Omentir name on a public fork?**

No. The MIT license covers the software. The Omentir name and logo are separate. Public forks should use their own branding.

**Do I need to self-host to use MCP?**

No. Hosted MCP is https://omentir.com/api/agent/v1/mcp. Self-host if you need the app on your infrastructure, not because you wanted Claude.

## If you have not sent a note yet, do not start with Docker

Use hosted Pro for the first test. Self-host when ops is the actual requirement.
